film in Virginia City, Mt

Virginia City, Montana was the second territorial capital of Montana. The gold rush drew thousands to the area and many struck it rich along the banks of Alder Gulch. Today, the community is considered a “living” ghost town which has appealed to a variety of film productions.

From Memorial Day to Labor Day, the community shines, offering living history every week, a variety of events, live performances, and charming storefronts. Virginia City offers so much more. There are over 150 structures in Montana’s Virginia and Nevada cities that can be sealed off from the public that date back to 1860-1875. In addition, the community’s trove of Americana Artifacts could be just what you are missing. Virginia City has served as a filming location for decades, more recently, “Any Bullet Will Do” (2015) and the “Ballad of Lefty Brown” (2017) were filmed in the community. Virginia City is excited to welcome you and your production team to the community.
